EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years management in a commercial insurance division of an insurance company, large agency or brokerage firm. The person must have a firm grasp of commercial insurance, actuarial and the risk management requirements for this kind of insurance business. Experience working with insurance companies, especially commercial insurers, from outside the carrier is a benefit. Person must display passion for the position, desire to build a business and take associated risk with MSB, at the same time have a vision for where commercial products could go from the MSB side. Person must also be able to coordinate business and product projects, manage a P&L for a $12M business, and see the way to grow the business dramatically in markets served.
Experience selling value added products to insurance companies is also a benefit. However, we will look for the ideal candidate to appreciate and understand value proposition level selling once the concepts are introduced, especially the MSB co-management sales program.
The ideal candidate will work with the product management, product development, delivery, marketing, research and sales groups assigned to support our Commercial Solutions Group business. Even if sales are not immediately forthcoming from our sales organization (sic) this business leader will be capable of taking his/her business initiatives to market on their own. MSB business leaders are excellent sales resources in themselves and this type of sales oriented persona is needed in the candidate hired.
